Okay, I'm in for the ride. As I usually get too caught up in finding the right idea I'm taking a page from Kerouac and going free-verse style. Although, it helps to know what you're free-versing about... but I'll see what I can come up with.

I'd need to learn about 2000 more english words in order to even be allowed to write more than a dozen sentences in english. I'm sure you're an educated woman Justine, with some hard work you'll easily handle this task!

Independent writing styles are always respected, infact, I have only read one book in english in my entire life, so I have no clue what that means...

But I'd guess that it is more important that you go the way your fingers turn than to turn the fingers to a certain style of writing. Keep it clean, keep it personal! The only way to have fun when you're working is to make it personal. For Quentin Tarantino, personal means a lot of references to his favorite films and geeky, smug dialogue. For others it means one emotional truth 24 times per second.

You can write in your own language, the robots don't know the difference. We have no idea why we call it "national" NoWriMo. So you should go for it! :D

There were several times i almost said something to him. he looked like luke wilson. of course my heart is kinda set on owen wilson <3 that's what stopped me i guess. :) :) :)

Ooh, I'm more of a Luke girl myself. We should definitely double-date.

So, 'cause the site's down and it's driving me crazy, I'm on track at 5280. High fives, girls!

yay yay, let's double date.

Yeah the site is down so much. grr. I've been writing a lot, but I know I'll get behind. I am already encountering leaving out details because I am writing on a notebook away from my computer. Plus after I write I have to type it. Grr. Oh well, I'm not sure if I'm on track or if I'lll stay on track bc November is otherwise busy. But...I'm trying.

Yeah, I'm on target now but somehow I feel behind. I'm writing really slowly and that's ok for now because I had four days off work at the start of the month but I can't make it on this pace after tomorrow. I was hoping to write 10K by the end of the weekend. I've got to start writing for speed and stop minding that it comes out crap! :)

Allison! What's all this about?

"What's so wrong about wanting Allison to make a video where she says my name? She already did that for 99.9 % of the members in here..."

oh charles. yeah i have to make a video about him. basically two months ago or three i made a video saying hello to some of the users on YMDB deux. However, I didn't mention Charles and actually some other worthy ppl. So Charles got offended and now he is using my pic as an avatar. I think an admin should delete his picture or ban him untill he is willing to knock it off.

Anyhow, I told him i'd make a video saying hi to him but only if he got rid of his "Allison" avatar.

The picture is from my IMEEM Music profile. I have it deleted now. but he probably has it saved. I will probably never dye my hair black again. anyway...

ok i am leaving YMDB because an admin is allowing Charles to use my picture for an avatar after I asked him nicely to remove it. I was going to make a video to "Appease" charles, but he says he'll only behave if I make it, but I want him to comply first. Anyway, that place went to shit. It is too terrible.

Damn, you catch up quick... I've been sitting here for 6 hours and I've written about 1000 words, I think. Must write more quickly.

Anyway, I'm the afinpassing who's just befriended you over there.

Heh heh, that's exactly what I was going to say after reading your excerpt! Maybe after this brutal, absurd exercise we'll at least learn to be a little easier on ourselves when it comes to writing.

Technically, nothing written prior to November can be counted. But I'm really not a purist. Besides the way you're headed you're going to write 50K new words, so I wouldn't worry.

You did in two days what I did in five... well, I won't be jealous. I'm surprisingly happy with my progress so far.

Oh no! Never mind, i'll chop it out, i want to play by the rules.
Just means rewriting my story a little... Hmm, i need a new plot!
Did you have one set out from the beginning? Or are you seeing where your writing takes you?

I'm fairly sure that I'll end up making way too many grammar and spelling mistakes in this, and just get annoyed and quit. :?

Well, the rules are fun! but the whole point of the exercise is to get people to write so I never look askance a little rule-bending when it really serves the process and the story.

My friend and I have been gearing up for this since August or even before. So I went through about a dozen plots before I decided to write about what I was obsessed with at the moment and only to amuse myself. :) I did a fair amount of planning throughout October and constructed an overly elaborate narrative structure, themes and so on (which is why I placed my story in LitFic ;)). But for the last 10 days leading up to nano I wasn't in the mood at all, and stopped preparing. Anyway I did all that prep work and it's mostly set in my head, but I haven't been writing with my notes at hand at all. The story's simplifying as I go and taking a new shape, but I'm ok with that. It's just a draft after all -- though I am completely uncommitted on the question of ever touching this thing again after 30 November.

You gotta kill your internal editor and write through the pain and embarrassment. :)

Or just write reaaaally slowly like me. Um, I think I "wrote" for 8 hours today and only came up with 2000 words. :?
