Big month for Woody Allen—after being blown away by Interiors, I wanted to have another run at his lengthy CV. The Purple Rose of Cairo also made the cut, and I loved Broadway Danny Rose, as well. Bananas and Deconstructing Harry were much less pleasant, so that ended that high, I suppose. Husbands and Wives is still out there as probably the last of his films likely to enter my top 100.

There are a handful of films left I can cut relatively painlessly, but I’m very quickly approaching the point where choosing 100 films only will be very, very difficult. On the other hand, I think this is now a strong list which represents my tastes well.

Lauren, 25, out-of-work librarian. At the moment, TLC is but a review blog and catalogue of my film-related perversions. I always plan to do more with it — and to one day step outside 30s Hollywood again. Who knows?
