Comments
- I completely remade my list twice this month, with the guiding principles of greater honesty and conformity of taste: that is, The Third Man, Seventh Seal & Sansho have gone the way of On the Waterfront & 12 Angry Men as films I respect greatly and quite enjoy but which are not beloved to me, while at the same time giving a large bump to films like McCabe & Mrs Miller and giving a high initial spot to films like Vivre sa vie because they seem like ‘my kind of film.’ The day when I have 100 such films is the day I have a perfect list. It’s becoming more and more a reflection of my self every month.
- I loved my first Godard this month!! That’s a big relief. :) Now, if only I could find a Bresson to love I’d feel absolved absolutely.
- Mrs Brown & Separate Tables seem to be regular pinch hitters when I’m not satisfied with my bottom 10. They are welcomed back again because, again, they are more ‘me’ movies than others bumped off.
- I admitted I couldn’t have an honest list without naming Nine to Five as a favorite, as incongruous as it is here.

about
Lauren, 25, out-of-work librarian. At the moment, TLC is but a review blog and catalogue of my film-related perversions. I always plan to do more with it — and to one day step outside 30s Hollywood again. Who knows?
